What would life be like without new experiences!
We have just had some great new experiences during our two week holiday. Ministers family camp – we were so well looked after. Kids performing at the Opera House – wow, it was amazing. Staying with Uncle Cam – well that’s always an experience. Falling in the fountain at Hyde Park – actually I think that has happened before! Chasing frogs out of the bedroom at night – the country cousins experience. Sleeping outside on the trampoline – you kids are crazy!
The cupcake experience was also a first. A shop dedicated only to cupcakes – it was almost too much!
Was it the best cupcake I have ever eaten? Was it worth breaking a month long gluten free diet?
“Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a grateful heart, for it is now that God favours what you do.” Ecclesiastes 9:7
While travelling we re-listened to a set of talks based on Ecclesiastes given by Kirk Patston at this years Katoomba Easter Convention. Kirk ponders the way we view our lives and how we get caught up in business of life without really experiencing the joys of life. He thinks about what it means to live in the moment as we consider that our life is not something that we ultimately have control over. Talks that you could listen to and ponder time and time again and still want to come back for more.
No, it wasn’t the best cupcake ever but it didn’t really matter. Sometimes you just have to grab the opportunities that life throws your way – especially the cupcakes.
